Story time!
On Sunday 7-17-16 I went out to my garage and the door wouldn't open. Womp womp. So I checked the outlets, breakers, GFI and they were all fine and the unit was dead. I had a terrible time trying to get my car out of the garage! I tugged and tugged on the red cord but nothing happened. I tugged it towards the motor, I lifted up, nothing. I googled and you-tubed it and the best I could figure you just had to pull the red cord and the door would open but that didn't happen so I had to kinda take the door latch apart, open the door, move my car, put the door down, then put the door latch back together. I was sweaty and covered in grease by the time I was done.
So I put in a work order with my property manager and they called this company. Silver State called my husband and left him a message. I called them back and no answer so I left a voicemail. They didn't call back so I tried again a few hours later and got Gary. He scheduled an appointment for Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 3 PM. The technician Justin called when he was on the way and was right on time at 3PM in an un-marked 90's white minivan.
He opened the door up with the red cord in one try. I was flabbergasted. I told him about me having such a hard time opening the door and he grinned and remarked "Oh yeah the red cord that was real hard to figure out, huh?" YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Justin said the unit would need to be replaced and they'd need approval from the property manager.
On Thursday July 21, 2016 I called my property manager and they said they had approved it so I called Silver State and Gary answered and said he was busy at the moment and he'd call me back. On Friday July 22, he called me back and we scheduled an appointment for them to come back out and replace the unit.
They came out to replace the unit on Tuesday 7-26-16. The appointment was at 2:30 but Justin arrived around 3:30. I love my new unit! I was a little perturbed that they left all the trash there in my garage but it was no big deal.
They did a very good job from what I can tell and I would recommend them.
