The Carolina Raptor Center is not to be missed if you're anywhere near Huntersville! I've gone to several raptor centers throughout the US and this one is a stand out. Staff are very friendly and animals appear to be happy and well cared for.
It's a large place that wraps around in a big circle ensuring that you never have to backtrack. It makes for a really lovely fall or spring nature walk and there are many interactive components and curiosities along the way.
The admission fee is reasonable and it goes towards supporting the care of the birds. They've got various activities and interactive animal meet and greet opportunities on some days. I highly recommend a visit to the Carolina Raptor Center, especially if you've got kids!
