We came to town in early May for an Elton John concert at Caesar's. We stayed 2 nights in room 8223. I didn't LOVE the room but it suited all of our needs and you get the feeling things will continue to improve throughout the hotel as they put the finishing touches on throughout 2018. Pros: The shower was neat with its new, red subway tile; bed was comfy & soft; TV pulls out from the wall and swivels to face either the bed or the sofa; it's clean; there's a safe in the room; the Primrose restaurant had great food. The pool was very nice, too - it's not as fun as the Monte Carlo but the clean, modern look of the pool area really classes up the joint. Cons: Pool is not heated; room and hallways were not lit well; not enough storage space in the room (no dresser and limited counter space); you can tell they cut costs on renovations by slapping a coat of paint on some things (although the shower remodel was quite well done). All in all: We had a nice stay and while Mandalay Bay remains my favorite casino resort on the strip, The Park MGM is a totally viable option for a quick weekend getaway for the budget conscious traveler that still wants to enjoy the Mlife MGM experience. This hotel has easy tram access up to the Bellagio and they've done a lot to upgrade the area around the TMobile Arena and New York, NY (lots of street-accessible bars and restaurants). Lots of people complain about them having removed the lazy river from the pool area when it was the Monte Carlo. Sure, the pool isn't quite as fun, but the modern take on the remodel is nice and will draw a hipper crowd. If you want to entertain kids, stay at the Excalibur.
