Let me be the fifty-eighth reviewer to say basically the same thing... There is a lot about Muji that is simply lost in translation.
The layout of the store itself leaves a lot to be desired. On a busy day, the long line of people waiting to pay for their clock, pens, or pack of white undershirts bisects the store, forcing you to cut through the line to see the flatware.
Prices here are not great, nor are they bad. The idea here is minimalism. That is, most of the very basic stuff you need to live in a small condo or dorm (minus the furniture) with limited choice. If it works (and apparently it is working for a segment of the population), you accept that "Muji is cool and of high quality at a good price and I therefore accept having such a place make my choices for me."
