While I continue to believe that maintaining a Home Warranty Policy is a good idea, my recent dealings with AMA to replace a water heater was a reminder that obtaining multiple estimates for a job is never a bad idea. Oleg looked at my water heater a total of 5 minutes before determining it needed to be replaced. The only additional repair that he mentioned to me personally was an installation of straps, yet after he left the property, I received a phone call from my Home Warranty Company detailing the multiple repairs/charges (10 total for over a thousand dollars) not covered by my warranty that I would need to pay in advance and out of pocket in order to get the installation "up to code". While I agree that my ten year old water heater needs to be replaced and that it should be up to code, a second opinion from a 5 star water heater repair service confirmed my suspicions that AMA attempts to make unnecessary repairs at outrageous prices in order to make a profit. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!
