I had Tree Pros come out and give me a quote. A wall was being rebuilt between my house and my neighbors and a problem tree had grown into the wall, so I needed a it to be removed ASAP... They quoted 540$, and I called on a Thursday, a couple days after the quote was given, to schedule them to cut down the tree. I kept getting the run around saying they would call me back and they would never call. I kept calling them, and then they said their quote was to low and they needed to re-evaluate the tree, they said they would call me back and didn't again! When I called back on Monday, I got an arborist scheduled to come out on a Wednesday... He no show no called me! I called their manager on Friday after not hearing from them on Thursday, they were unaware nobody came out... I said that I needed the tree done by Monday and he said he could look at a picture they had.. and said it would be $980. I explained the horrible service I had over the past 8 days and I would need a better price than an 80% mark up from the original quote. He said "we need to make money on the job and this is the lowest they would go" and he would be happy to schedule me if I agreed to the price increase.. They wasted a lot of my time! I had to rush and get another quote from someone else, ended up finding a small business landscaper to do it for $700. The landscaper said he gets a lot of jobs where people had similar service issues with tree pros...He said they only want to do the big jobs and don't want to waste their time with small contracts.
