Update #2
Shaggy to Chic phoned me saying that they were surprised with the review and the photos as they thought I seemed like a "pretty cool guy" after offering me a free bath and tidy on my dog. They politely asked me to take my photos down as they said "it's bad for business" and they did offer me a free service. They also mentioned had they of known about the multiple cuts that they would have offered a free service sooner.
Further, it was mentioned that my dog was pretty matted and hyper so they needed to get a second groomer to hold my dog down while she was being shaved.
I said I would take the photos down on the phone since they did offer me a free service. However, I've declined the offered free bath and tidy.
If you eat at a restaurant and get food poisoning, and the restaurant offers you a free meal next time, do you go back and eat again?
I'm leaving these photos up. They may think it is "bad for business" but what they accidentally did was bad for my dog...
UPDATE:
I took my puppy back and showed them the other nicks and they were very surprised and sad. They offered me a free groom and apologized far more than just once. As previously stated these are the nicest people and I'm happy they cared so much about making their mistake right.
Hopefully this next groom goes a lot better!
BEFORE UPDATE:
I'm giving this place two stars. 1 because I have to in order to post a review and two because the people there are extremely kind. However this is where my positivity will stop!
I took my 1 year old dog to this place just to try a new groomer and read nothing but positive things quoting "gentle" and "caring" about the dogs. Mine unfortunately did not have this experience. Granted my dog is quite hyper however she had been shaved before while her fur was matted at another grooming place.
We asked for a shave but to leave her as long as possible. I went to pick up my pup and was told she needed a low shave 3 up from a clinical shave. I was then told that the shaver "nicked" her a little. I was shown the wound and I understood.
I was then asked to pay for the grooming service. I thought, hey a minor nick and my dog is quite hyper. What can you do, right?
Upon playing with my dog Saturday evening I found more wounds under her front legs and have attached photos here. I'm very sad as I'm sure my dog must have made a sound as they look like they would have hurt! I'm appalled that I was even charged for this grooming if there was more than one injury and if a dog is THAT difficult to groom, why didn't the business call me and refuse to shave her for safety reasons?
While I was told about one injury I am very sad to be surprised and I do hope to hear back from Shaggy to Chic. I was going to take her in but I found out they are closed Sunday and Monday so I'm attaching photos so that its current.
If your dog needs a shave and they are matted, I wouldn't take them here!
