My husband and I were driving up to Chicago and stopped overnight at this hotel. We have stayed at Country Inn and Suites in the past and found them to be, while not luxurious, dependably clean and comfortable. Wow, were we wrong about this location! The entire hotel was worn and dirty. The hallway carpet had stains and you could see embedded dirt. The room was okay except for a very uncomfortable bed and a sink that was extremely slow draining.
I do want to note how pleasant the staff was. The woman greeting us at the front desk was very helpful as were all the other employees we came into contact with.
This was our first stay at this hotel chain in a long time so it's hard to say if the entire brand has downgraded or if this is an isolated situation. Regardless, our trust in this brand has been diminished and we will think long and hard about using this chain in the future.
The rate for this hotel is cheap so if you don't mind a dirty, slightly shabby hotel this is for you!
