I tried 1st avenue out today based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed.
No appointment needed had a short wait while I was entertained by some local characters , and free wifi always nice. Nice vibe to the place friendly and unpretentious , lots of conversations happening and good music , they had Hall and Oats You Make My Dreams Come True playing when I walked in which put me in a good mood immediately, how can it not lol (I'm guessing the music is eclectic mix)
The haircut turned out great, I came in there looking pretty shaggy and Carlos did a great job of cleaning me up. I was really impressed at the care and detail he put in, getting my blend done just right and taking care of all the details. I ended up with a really nice style and a strait razor neck shave to boot (which I always get a kick out of)
I highly recommend this place , its fair priced and has a fun atmosphere with great service what more can you ask for in a barbershop! I'll definitely be back.
