This post office receives a first star for its location (right next to Tovrea Castle, my favorite Phoenix landmark) and a second for its extended M-F hours. Sadly, this office has no other virtues meriting an additional star. Everything that one would expect from a government agency abounds. In short, expect long lines, minimal staff to wait on the customers, bad service, and plenty of frustration. In an effort to keep up with UPS, DHL, and FedEx, their private-sector competition, the Post Office some time ago began providing customers with tracking numbers enabling them to trace a letter or package to its destination. Sadly for the Post Office, this feature only further emphasizes their incompetence. On 12/30/17, I paid $5.78 to send an important letter by certified mail (meaning the other party has to sign for it, proving their receipt of the letter). As of today (1/11/18), this letter still has not arrived at its destination, the Post Office's website showing that the letter has been "delayed in transit" since 1/4/18. That means that this letter has been in Post Office Purgatory for more than a week. Are you kidding me? I would have been better off just slapping a 49ยข stamp onto the envelope and dropping it into a mailbox. My recommendation is to avoid this and all other post offices. Whenever possible, send your important correspondence via one of the Post Office's private-sector competitors.
