The food at Virtu is very good and the location is excellent. The menu is short - about a half dozen starters and entrees, and 3 desserts. We tried the grilled octopus starter, the squid ink linguine with octopus and the smoked duck. We followed-up with a visit that included the two octopus dishes again. All were excellent. The linguine with red sauce and garlic was really good... A+. The signature octopus starter is good... but when compared to say the octopus at Mediterranean Explorations Company in Portland... it pales in comparison, and seems to try too hard. But why quibble? It's good. The desserts and cocktails have all been in the great category - with a grappa and grape cocktail on the front side, and a mascarpone ice cream with balsamic red figs to finish. On the latest visit both the cocktails and desserts were A+ again. Things developed slowly through the evening - any slower it would have been an issue. Highly recommended.
