The Capitol district's entry into the classic Wisconsin dive-bar sweepstakes, and this review rates it in that category. For starters, I must dissent from the reviews that complain about the cleanliness of the place. The facility and the restrooms are much cleaner than not only any dive-bar I've been to, but even than places that fancy themselves much swankier. Perhaps those reviewers were in on a busy night where the drunks got the better of it. Beyond that, the friendly bartenders and bar patrons make this a fun stop for drinks either before or after dinner, or to just wash away your day. At the Dollar, you can always count on a great conversation, a strong drink or an ice-cold beer from an impressive selection. Seriously, what more do you need?
