This guy is a total joke!! First of all, he walked into my house without ringing the door bell or knocking first! Blew my mind! I had come inside from being out in the front yard and didn't lock the door as i usually do. I was in my kitchen when I heard someone turn the front door knob and walk in. I immediately went into defense mode as I made my way towards the front door and was met by a man inside and shutting the door closed. He had shorts and a t-shirt on with no company name or anything to indicate who he was. I was aware someone would be out that day to look at/re[air a shower but no specific time - just after 11 a.m. which would of been fine until he just walked into my house. As I was asking who he was was, to get out and what does he think he's doing - his response was that when he tried the door knob it was unlocked so he let himself in!! Who does this????!!! He had a very bad attitude - like the old school kind - how dare a woman tells him what or what not to do, etc. Anyways, I reluctantly showed him the shower that needed repair even after I figured out he was the shower repair guy. I explained to him that the shower simply needed to have the piece of thin clear plastic/silicone stripping applied to the edge of the glass shower door to prevent the leaking of water. He said he needed to go some place and would return. When he returned he had a long strip of this stuff, however it didn't look right as it was a red color and it needed to be all clear. Clear is what was currently on the shower door and is the only thing you would put on a shower that is stone and marble and does not have any red color in it what-so-ever. To place red colored stripping on the glass shower door would drastically change and greatly hurt the the appearance of the shower. So, I asked him if the red color substance is one that easily wipes off after application. He assured me it was. I have a number of years of experience in rental turn-overs so gained quite a bit of knowledge about maintenance and handyman issues. I know that there are some materials such as this stripping that have color that easily wipes off and the reason I asked about it. After he was finished, he said he needed a check for $125. I explained the person who called him to set up the repair told him to call right before he completed the work and he would run by payment. He seemed like he didn't know about this but who knows at this point. So I called this individual and they came right over to give him payment. I was still standing at the front door when I overheard this guy say the total was $200!!!! He increased the price - I couldn't believe this!!! To make the experience/situation even worse, after this guy left, I tried wiping the red color off of the stripping and found it couldn't be because he had adhered the side with this red color on it to the glass shower door!! Then, I noticed the entire lid of the toilet seat had this very sticky - very difficult to remove adhesive that was on the trim he put on the shower. Then, I noticed a patch of this red colored sticky gunk on one of the wall tiles inside the shower. Bot just this but then I noticed this stuff on the bathroom floor tiles where he had walked. First of all, there is no way an experienced shower repair person would apply trim to a glass door with this red colored sticky gunk. It changes the whole appearance of the shower. More so, he wouldn't have gotten it all over the bathroom. I know this guy did this intentionally because he didn't like nor was used to a woman jumping his case as I did when just walked into my home without ringing the bell or knocking first. I literally spent hours - 6 hours in total - trying different things to remove this red colored sticky gunk from the shower door, shower tile, floor and toilet. The stripping had to be removed and tossed out!! The individual who paid him called to ask why he would increase the total cost in a matter of 2 minutes from $125 to $200. He himmed and hawed and said it was because of all the work he had to do with re-hanging the shower door. Total lie!! He didn't re-hang the door. He only did what I've explained here. This guy is a joke.
