Lake View was oddly one of the most interesting places we visited during our Cleveland hiatus. We went with the intention of seeing Garfield's tomb, not knowing how impressive the entire grounds were. The tomb was closed (November - April it seems) so we drove around for almost an hour and a half just taking in all of the elaborate tombs and gravestones. There are so many to see that are so grand, dating back into the 1800s, and the grounds are beautifully maintained with great views of the city. It was a dreary, cold, and quiet New Years Day, lending a little to the creepy vibe we were getting while there. One of the most impressive statues/tombs was the Haserot Angel, which looks to be aged copper and has black tears falling from her eyes. SHE IS SO SCARY. Absolutely beautiful, but definitely gave me the chills. I truly hope she doesnt follow us home to Colorado... I just made a note to pick up holy water on the drive home from the airport. I'm such a baby.
