I always used to get this pastry at my local bakery thinking they made it. It stopped appearing there....
Then I saw it at my local grocer. That's when I realized that this dessert is being made somewhere else. I found out its Dufflet!!!!
I googled it and found there were locations in Toronto. I saw it while I was downtown and I decided to drop in.
They have butter cookies, brownies, cake, pies, pastries, & little desserts.
I am in love with their chocolate shell tarts. Lots of great options. If you buy any six desserts, there's no tax. The prices are reasonable, such as $3.00 and change for tarts. The tarts are strong enough for 2-3 people.
I had a salted caramel chocolate tart. That was also very tasty.
The staff is also very nice. There is also an area in the back where you can sit and chat over tea or coffee and desserts.
I recommend this place.
