This place is not for the faint of heart! There is a LOT of mess, oil, garlic, FUN and YUMMYNESS to be had. It's a fabulous place to go and have a wonderful evening. It's not a typical restaurant, and it's quite an experience.
It can be a little costly, but seafood normally is - so it isn't shocking or out of the norm for those who enjoy going to seafood restaurants. I had dinner with my SO and we shared 5 lbs - yes - that's a lot (we had leftovers). 2 lbs of mussels, 1 lb of crab, 1 lb of crawfish, and 1 lb of shrimp.
I think it's a unique and fun experience since you get to eat with your hands, but yes - there are lots of oils, but its flavourful, and not overwhelming as others say. Its great because everything is made to order, so if you order a few things, and mid meal you feel like you want more, you can let your server know you'd like to order more.
Service can be a little slow (I also found this) because the place can be busy on a Friday/Saturday evening.
