I find myself at Hop Haus more often than I thought I would. My friends love this place. I must say it's located in a great location, one lacking other options. They offer trivia routinely, for free, and from a decent host. The vibe is bar meets living room and should be enjoyed with close friends. HH supplies the board games.
HH allows carry in food, which is much appreciated since they haven't offered much for food during my visits, however they indicated plans to up their food game. AJ's is just up the street - perfect for pick up or delivery pizza. Another time we carried in a birthday cake. I hear there are periodically food trucks outside but the stars haven't yet aligned for me.
For me, the beer here is only a 3 star due to the lack of diversity. They're wonderfully candid about not catering to lagers, pilsners, or kolschs, however they do leave out a large group of people that either due to preference or allergy, have to stick to these cleaner categories much of the time.
