I was super excited when Browmance came to Cityplace - with a young baby and my regular waxing place not being very child friendly, I needed a last minute appointment and couldn't leave the baby at home so came here for waxing. I popped in before booking - they offer several different waxes - yay! Booking an appointment online was also easy. It was lovely that the lady recognized me when I went back in today and everyone fussed over the baby which was very sweet. The lady who did my waxing was super fast and also very lovely. Unfortunately though, the quality was really not up to standard - I was not asked what kind of wax I preferred and a glance at the pots suggested there wasn't a choice - using the wax that is removed by strips of paper is super painful 'down there'. The room was also incredibly hot - I don't like having my waxing done and sweat anyway but in here, it was running down my forehead - nice! The lady was also hot so it wasn't just me. The baby was beginning to fuss a little so I hurried out but when I got home, I found a very sketchy wax-job - no tweezing and tufts of hair left everywhere. The lady kindly did a little further down my leg - but only on one side!! She didn't tidy anything up and didn't even do a full Brazilian. Now, my baby was fussing and it could be that she was rushing so that I could tend to him BUT surely that's my decision (I've cut services short in the past if I need to leave/in too much pain etc etc) The cost was $45 inc tax, which had this been a properly done job, it would have been perfect but this was costly given the poor results. As previous poster mentions, the friendliness and the environment (spotlessly clean) are lovely - the quality of service needs work. ***Update*** - This evening I received a follow up call from the owner of Browmance. She was keen to discuss the service and offered several solutions for rectifying my experience - all of which were very generous. Great customer service and a business eager to get it right. ***Update #2*** - I received another call this evening from Browmance - a few months after my first (and only) visit. The lady explained that they had recently done an audit of the services and skills and found that some areas were lacking. In particular, the lady who I reviewed above had been let go for not being up to standard. I was offered the opportunity to go back and try a waxing service on the house. I have now moved to another hair removal method so didn't take up the offer but once again, I am super impressed by the attention to customer service.
