My opinion of Spencer's has gone from bad to worse. Brian Testa was our salesperson. I will not return to this business. I had nothing but problems with a floor model, that eventually was replaced with a new model. That happened because I was persistent and made call after call directly to Kitchen Aide. Spenser's staff did nothing to facilitate this happening. So, no follow up (well, maybe, if you have the patience to wait for when it is convenient for Spencer's) from your salesperson!! We spent over $5000 there. I did not receive the $300 rebate as promised (which is why I purchased a higher priced appliance) and I purchased a 5-year extended warranty. BIG MISTAKE. Testa sold it as a $150 must-have. I generally do not purchase these because my past experience has been finding out that you really don't get what you pay for. I should have followed my own advise. That said, heed this- Spencer's only sells extended warranties which are through a company called Centurion. Centurion ONLY uses Gold Wing to handle warranty issues. Gold Wing was unable to solve my initial problems. While still covered under the manufacturer warranty, I could use anybody and E & J Appliance Repair CO. came through every time. You have a choice, as a consumer, to purchase an extended warranty through the manufacture. I was lead to believe this is what I was purchasing. No where does it state on my receipt the name Centurion, but this is what you are buying. It states "REFRG 5 YR TOTAL SERVICE Warranty. Sounds nice, doesn't it? Total Service. I'm so glad I'm still young to have learned this lesson. Get everything in writing and understand fully what you are buying. I feel cheated by Spenser's and this is why I won't ever return there.
