According to information on the Internet, Gammage completed a $1.2 Million Dollar upgrade in August 2015 to improve the sound system . We attended "Wicked" on September 17th and from the 5th row center, we could not understand 75% of the words sung or spoken. Loud is the same as clear. During intermission, many of the people surrounding us complained of the same experience. We love Gammage and have found previous experiences to be phenomenal. However, unless the sound system is actually improved, we will not attend another event at this venue. How sad that $1.2 Million Dollars was wasted!
