I usually don't review airports, but Calgary International deserves a special shout-out. I traveled through here on a recent business trip and was very impressed - this might be the best airport I've ever traveled through. Firstly, the facilities are very clean, modern, and well-organized. Whoever engineered this airport did a great job. Checking through security was a breeze and getting through the US customs station was fast as well. They have free wifi throughout the whole airport that is not only fast, but also has huge range. I was still using the wifi out on the tarmac inside my plane right before takeoff. Everyone who works here is so nice and friendly. Like seriously, not sure if it's just the famed Canadian hospitality or what, but all the employees were super chipper. It's a nice change (and a stark contrast) to your regular TSA employee at American airports. Only complaint with YYC - power outlets and where to find them?! Plenty of seating in the waiting areas but no power outlets! You have to go back to the food court/shop area to find any seating with power outlets nearby. OVERALL: 4/5. Normally going through an airport is like pulling teeth. YYC does a great job of making a normally unpleasant experience quite bearable. Great airport.
