This is the first time I've tried Urban Orchid (UO). I'm normally a 1-800-flowers.com customer, because I assumed the price couldn't be beat. I also like being able to see all the options pictured online. Unfortunately my last online flower purchase didn't resemble the picture so I was searching for a new shop. I was having trouble getting in to UO when they were open, so I emailed them. I wasn't sure if they would do business via email, but I emailed them on a Sunday when they are closed and I got a nice reply before 11am Monday. UO explained to me that their arrangements start at $35 and that their delivery is $12.99 (though I don't know the mileage range). UO said their standard size arrangements are $50-75. UO also asked me some good questions to start off the planning process for my flower arrangement needs and really picked up on the details of the email request I had sent them (e.g., dimensions of table I would put flower on). I was happy to find out the entire transaction could be completed via email, even pre-payment. I told them via email when I would pick up the arrangement. I arrived just at that time to find it already ready for me. They put it in a box and I was out the door in 5 minutes. One final comparison to 1-800-flowers.com. I had sent a picture to UO of what I had purchased last off of 1-800-flowers.com and they told me they would have charged $40 for that - the same price 1-800-flowers.com charged. I've uploaded a photo of my purchase. I'm really really happy with it and so was the person who I gave it to. It was bold, full, and just gorgeous.
