Coit changes figures and does not stand by their quotes. I go by the rule of 3 strikes your out.
1st time (2010) Coit cleaned my carpets and the tech had a chemical spill on my travertine floor that took the shine out of my tile. He apologized but did not correct. 2nd time (2011) a tech cleaned my carpets and as he was packing up I inspected & saw black streaks on walls, toilet and items in bathroom and the carpet was soaked. His response was the hose came apart and he tried to clean it up (he wasn't going to tell me about it, I found it on my own). Called Coit they said "We apologize" no break in price.
This year (2012) morning of 7/2 I called for a price on air duct and carpet cleaning (Coit had left a message about 50% off). Ebony gave me a price of $260.00 for air duct cleaning based on a 2011 quote of $510.00 but she factored in the 50% discount. She also offered 50% off last years carpet cleaning price of $197.00 which would have been around $100 but said the lowest she can go is $125.00. However, since I was having 2 services done she would check with her supervisor on lowering the $125.00 and get back to me shortly. No call, after 1pm I called Ebony, she said she still had not seen her supervisor but would get back to me by the end of the day. Again my air duct cleaning is $260. End of day I called and she still had not seen her supervisor but informed me I will be on thursdays schedule and someone would call tuesday with the time. Price is $260.00/air duct. Tuesday she called with the scheduled time of 8 a.m. thursday and again the price for duct cleaning $260.00 and tech would give price on carpet because she still had not seen her supervisor.
Tech and assistant arrived thurs stating he would work up a price for air ducts. I explained I had been given a price of $260, his response was that price is unheard of. His price $570. He stated that Ebony is new and made a mistake by going off my quote from last year of $510 which already had 40% off. His price $570 @50% off. You do the math. He went outside to call supervisor (the car dealer trick) and was back within 3 minutes with price of $570 and would I like a price on carpeting. NO THANKS! Hey wait, Ebony claimed she couldn't get in touch with the supervisor for 2 days. What a bunch of liars. He wanted to leave the quote so I could think about it. NO THANKS! He then wanted to leave the quote so I could call the supervisor and tell him the story. Give me a break, supervisor probably knew the story since monday. I said to remove me from their call sheet. I am now on a mission to spread the word to my real estate partners, customers, friends family, neighbors and now you to STAY AWAY FROM COIT. Sears gave me both services for less than Coit's air duct service. Sears is also a member of the National Air Duct Cleaning Association which Coit likes to use in their sales pitch.
