I was quoted $139.00 on-line and over the phone by Technaglass for the glass, gasket sealer and installation. Arriving at the Sunset location Julio said the chrome trim around the windshield was no longer available. I ordered the trim and gasket and had it delivered directly to the shop. They only provided the glass and the sealer. The labor was $150.00, the glass $49.95 and a tube of sealer $25.00! For an out the door price of $235.97 (tax included). Which is a 160% of the the original estimate and I supplied more than half the parts ($130.00)! This is an old fashioned rubber gasket windshield installed with a piece of string set in the channel and the trim is later pushed in to lock it in. It's old school tech that takes about 20 minutes to do. I was charged 2 hours labor at $75.00 an hours. They didn't even put the slight pre-bend in the trim when they installed it so the trim would lay flush. Now the trim flares out at the corners and it looks ridiculous. Terrible job! Terrible price! Service is okay. Julio is friendly and his shop is clean.
