The coffee scene in PHX has definitely improved since I left. In a few short years, about a dozen or so caffeine purveyors have set up shop and offer decent-to-excellent cups o'joe. Songbird is one of these shops. I was here on a late weekday morning, waiting to meet a music colleague, and enjoyed my time before, during, and after the meeting. The shop is situated on a developing section of Roosevelt St and is attached to an art gallery. It was pretty quiet the whole time I was there; in fact, after speaking with the lovely barista, she confirmed that the general atmosphere is quiet most days, making this place an ideal spot for getting actual work done. My actual drink (cappuccino) was really good and did not leave any funky aftertaste. I would definitely make a return visit and just spend some time hanging out and soaking in the relaxed ambience.
