My sister and I walked in because we spontaneously decided to get our nails done. We rarely get our nails done.We were immediately accommodated which was wonderful (this was in the evening on a saturday)
Prices - My sister chose to get a FULL SET OF ACRYLICS with regular polish which was $25 and I opted for a SHELLAC MANICURE (french) $35. Regular shellac is $30
Staff - The staff were very friendly. The woman who did my shellac manicure was AMAZING (don't remember her name, it starts with an S though). She was kind, pleasant, friendly, gentle and took her time. She gave me a mini hand message at the end when she applied a lovely scented lotion. She also showed her work on my nails to the other ladies because she thought it came out so nice. It looked like she used stickers to achieve the crisp french tip, but no.She did it free hand and the tips were opaque. Didn't know french was $5 extra though because I've never gotten my nails done and didn't see the charge until I paid at the end.
Nail review and longevity - My shellac manicure lasted for 2 weeks+ with no peeling or chips on the nail surface. I had to remove it because my nail grew so much and you could see the obvious difference between the shellac and my natural nail. Then again I dont put my hands through much except when tying papers for school.
- My sister who got the acrylics experienced no chipping in colour either and she got regular polish for her acrylics. She also had to take it off about 2 weeks later because her natural nail grew significantly.
Cons - a con would be that the lady who did my sisters acrylics kept pushing her to get shellac on her acrylic nails which were about $10 extra if I remember correctly. She asked my sister about 3 times and was persistent even though my sister continuously said no. That was annoying.
- also there was a $1 charge because they use new tools on each client for sanitation purposes (buffer, nail file ect) the ladies did no use new tools. I could see white marks on the buffing block from when it was used before.
-the woman who did my sisters nails left my sister under the dryer for about 20 mins. She didn't tell her she was done until we asked if her nails were done drying
The nails came out wonderful. The only downside about this experience was the woman who attended to my sister. The prices are typical now that I have compared them to other nail salons. I am not sure if I would return.
