On the recommendation of my wife I tried this place for the first time on Sunday. I arrived about 1:00pm and got right in. I was impressed by the decor because the outside looks so bland. In fact if you weren't paying attention, you could drive right by it.
My massage therapist was Lily, an attractive young woman, who ushered me in to a massage bed. She had me remove my shirt and my shoes and socks while she went and got the hot water for my feet.
Upon her return, she put my feet in the water and proceeded to massage the back of my neck, head and face. Then on to the shoulders and middle back, all while I was lying on my back. Then on to my arms, shoulders and hands, all very good.
Next she went to work on my feet, spending about 10 minutes on my feet and calves, as far up as my pants legs would go, not quite to my knees. After that she pulled my pants legs down and proceeded to massage my legs through my jeans, not very comfortable.
When she finished working on my legs from the front, she had me roll over and began working on my back and legs. She massaged my back for a little bit with some lotions, then covered me up with a towel and began massaging my back with her arms and later her knees and legs. Then she moved on down to the backs of my legs, again over my jeans.
She also used some techniques I would identify as Thai Massage, pulling on my arms and shoulders, all of which felt quite good.
She spent a full 60 minutes on me and I would give her a solid 4 out of 5 for the quality of her technique and attention to my comfort. The only thing I didn't care for was the massage over my jeans and when she used the towel to cover my back while massaging it with her arms, all a bit irritating, not painful, just an irritation.
Since I didn't go to this Spa looking for a new massage place, but rather at the request from my wife to check it out, I have to say, it was not the best I've had and certainly not the worst I've had. Perhaps if I were trying to make this a regular spot, I might ask if the therapist could avoid massaging through my clothes or through a towel. And lotion inserted of oil just didn't quite do it for me. I was very happy with the massage with these very few exceptions, so I may return and see if this spa will actually give the type of massage I'm used to getting at one of these Foot Spa's.
So all in all I'm going to recommend Happy Feet Spa, but if you want oil instead of lotion, bare hands instead of jeans or a towel, ask the therapist ahead of time and make sure you can get what you want. I will update this review if and when I return to check up on my few not so good remarks.
