I really, really wanted to like this place. Two of my favorite foods, right in the name!
But, alas. Went there for lunch today. Three occupied tables in the whole place (what does that tell you?). Asked to split a $14 cuban sandwich, with two sides, NBD. Sandwich is delivered to the table on one plate. I ask the foodrunner/server if the chef will split it for us. Waiter sniffs, and says, "That's what THAT is for!" and nods at a steak knife on the table. Really? Saunters back and leaves our food in the open window until the cook can be found to cut it in half.
Unfortunately, it kind of went downhill from there. The Cuban had sweet pickles and not the expected dill. Had they been really good, it would have been NP. But this was a serious mound (as much as the meat) and we both had to pull them off. Over- dressed mustardy buns (and I love mustard too), a blandly dressed salad (too bad, the veggies were fresh), and the star of lunch - two potato "tots" - the whole experience averaged out to a really mediocre lunch. Even the dill pickle served on the plate was so vinegary tart I had to spit it out. And I love vinegar!
Between the snotty food runner (our main server was good) the disappointing mashup of my favorite foods, and pricey lunch menu, I won't be back. I'll get my pig and pickle fix elsewhere.
