I am a long time resident & a daily sewer. I have 5 sewing machines (3 Kenmore 2 Singer) & a (Pfaff) serger. Thankfully I have never been able to spend a dime with either location. It seems whatever I've needed or needed done, was at the "other store". When I've gotten estimates for machine maintenance (preventative, of course) on my daily drivers, to save myself a little time, I've been quoted outlandish amounts w/ "plus any potential part replacement cost ". Keep in mind, they run just fine, not broken, just maybe dusty/could use a little oil... I'm talking multiple hundreds, depending on the machine. Not to mention the shaming/disgust for being a loyal Kenmore user. I make a living on these machines & they want a piece of that & scoffed at the makers I've chosen to use to make the money they're asking for. If you need anything sewing related, do yourself a favor & keep looking.
