My friend gave me a set if 6 mini cupcakes for my birthday. They were very cute. It came in a really nice box which made a really nice gift (seeing that I was the one receiving it). I received the following cupcakes: Pistachio, Red Velvet, Chocolate and Chocolate Strawberry. My favourite was the Pistachio cupcake. The other cupcakes were not really special - they are flavors that you can usually find anywhere else. Let's start with the buttercream. It's absolutely delicious and so rich in flavor. However, the proportion was so much larger than the cake that it got a little too sickening after a few more bites. I don't know how I will ever finish an actual size cupcake considering the huge amount of buttercream on top. The cake however, was quite disappointing. It was very dry. The buttercream is very moist, but even when you eat it together, the cake dampened the experience. I'm not sure if this was just a standardization problem, but seeing that I'm not the only one making the comment on the cake - perhaps it's something the bakery should consider. I haven't been to the location itself, so I cannot comment on the decor/environment or service.
