This place is fantastic. The perfect place to grab essentials, and then some! Several years ago when I lived here this place struck me as dicy. I don't know what it was at the time - possibly that Bryant Street was relatively bereft of active storefronts, maybe the one time when I went in and got a weird vibe from the clientele in the parking lot, maybe I was just new to the city and not in tune with the neighborhood yet. Whatever the reason, I have come to like this place. It is a small grocery store, with all the essentials. They have pretty average prices on most things, but produce and fresh stuff is a steal. My girlfriend stopped in recently and got more Honey Crisp Apples than I've ever seen for $3 and change. Also, they dropped in a free soft pretzel for her. Did you hear that? THEY HAVE SOFT PRETZELS. (i have a personal quest to find the best soft pretzel in the world. These aren't bad at all!) I've also stopped in here before to grab a copy of the Post-Gazette. Something about holding that physical copy on a Saturday morning when you have nothing else to do is really relaxing and satisfying. My only word of warning is that there is a minimum on Credit Card purchases. I cannot blame them for this as they get charged a transaction fee for each, and being a small local operation they need to keep an eye on their bottom line. Just don't expect to walk in and buy a half-dozen eggs with plastic. Check them out!
