You can smell the bread from down the street. They have different kinds of sourdough breads.
They also have pastries and sandwiches for an afternoon snack. Croissants are pretty good - almond croissant is even better.
The canelé is the real prize though. It's a small french pastry that looks kinda like a little Bundt cake. It's really hard and crispy on the outside, but soft and moist on the inside. They only have them Thursday - Sunday though! So make sure you go on those days. My roommate's become obsessed with them and now he's been trying to make them at home every day, but they never turn out as well as the ones at Blackbird. Shh don't tell him that.
