I had a similar experience in that I wanted a quote on getting some furniture refinished and after meeting a rep at a mall I gave my information. When I was contacted, they asked when they could come and that my wife should be there. I explained that I am retired and my wife works and is not interested. They arranged for an appointment 2 days later. That day, I received a call from a dispatcher who wanted to confirm the appointment and that my wife would be there. I explained the situation again but they stated that my wife need to be there. I explained that it was my furniture and my money not my wife's and that she had no interest in being there. They still insisted that my wife be there so I told them to consider me as single and they still argued with me. I have seen these high pressure, split the couple on agreement sales before and told them to forget it. After reading the reviews here I am glad I did.
