A trip to Vegas would not be complete without worshiping at the temple of Britney, so like any devout Catholic school girl (with pigtails held up by fuzzy pink feather holders) I made a pilgrimage to the AXIS Theatre at Planet Hollywood.
And to sum it up, girl has still got it (at least it looked that way from my seats in the way, way back). The theatre is actually pretty small so even with less than 20/20 vision I still had a pretty good view. I have seen her perform live several times over the years (before she shaved her head and after) and this show was just as much fun (most likely because I'm old and I liked having clean, comfortable seats and the air conditioned room).
Sure she does not sing live but what else would you expect? The showmanship was all there from the dancing, costume changes, elaborate stage set ups, fireworks, and confetti. The crowd was dancing all over the place (so much so that I almost got a seizure from all the arm flailing that was happening next to me) and all the songs (except two) were recognizable. It was a good flashback of everything Britney through the years and as someone who has grown up with her music, a celebration of all that she has accomplished.
Quick Tip: Doors open at 7 but don't be a sucker and get stuck in a long and crowded line. Come late and breeze through the doors fabulously like I did (the actual show doesn't start till much later than the published time).
