I needed a front end alignment and Discount Tire recommended I go to Bob's Autodynamics. I did and everything was good. About 7 months (and a lot of bumped curbs) later, I needed another alignment and took my car back to Bob's. After waiting more than an hour I was told all 4 struts needed to be replaced and 2 of them had broken their seals and were leaking fluid. He handed me a bill for $1250 to cover the oil change I asked for and the new struts and said they would have it done in a couple of hours. I declined and I remember the guy had a funny look on his face. I stating that I don't spend $1200 without doing a little research first. Looking back I think he actually winced. Oblivious to his reaction, I asked if they had done the oil change and alignment I asked for and he said only the oil change - there was no use in doing an alignment with bad struts. I paid for my oil change and left. I called Honda who said it would be unusual to replace the struts under 100K. I took my car my car to Honda to be checked out. They said I needed an alignment, but there was nothing wrong with the struts. I will never go back to Bob's. It's possible Bob himself may have good intentions, but this employee did not.
