What happened to the friendly sky
Where "You and I were meant to fly?"
They gave us leg room, checked our packs
And never charged for meals or snacks.
Nowadays we book with apps
Extras come with costly taps.
The middle seat's what we all get
Zone 5 is where we board the jet.
Seat belts fastened - very firm
Knees touch chins so we can't squirm
Bags stowed overhead in bins, plus
Beneath the seats in front of us.
When we taxi to the port
The PA system's last retort:
"Choose us again" implores a voice.
As if we had a better choice!
