I've been living in these apartments since Oct 2014, and loved the professional staff and how well maintained things were under Camden Del Mar's management. Now that AMC has taken over, the staff is less efficient in their communication efforts and maintaining the units. It's become a common problem when requests for maintenance are left incomplete or not done at all.
Today I had the worst encounter with "Jackie" one of the leading agents. I'm not sure where they got her from but she should not be working in a customer service job. She's rude and totally lacks the ability to be professional. I've NEVER encountered this rude behavior with anyone before, but she is far the worse. The other AMC staff just apologize and promise to call you back when handling an issue(although you'll be waiting until you call them back), but Jackie is sure to "put you in your place." Her attitude is so nasty that I went to the office to address it and she found joy in saying that her management team didn't work on weekends and that they are expecting me on Monday. It's funny how they were unavailable for me to speak with them but she was able to contact them to cover her butt.
Run! Why pay over $1450/mo to deal with nasty attitudes, break-ins, and low maintenance. You can rent a house or mortgage one far cheaper and deal less with AMC's drama at Avondale. They may look nice on the outside, and they will say anything to convince you to sign or renew a lease. Trust the old cliche' "everything that glitters isn't gold!" Try Madera or the Tuscany!
