I cannot express my disappointment and distaste for this company more. We gave them thousands upon thousands of dollars of our furniture - nice designer things such as Robb and Stucky, Z Gallerie, Custom items, etc. (I am a designer).
My understanding of their 'contracted terms' was not explained to me because they slip it in by sending a third party delivery driver to come pick up your furniture. They say it is an independent company. However, they are the ones that make you sign the contract and you have to pay them for pick up (interesting).
They took our furniture, asked us to declare value (which they NEVER) used and simply take lesser amounts for, and never explain to you their policies (which in my opinion should be illegal). The policy, or so they say after the fact, (my husband went down to the another store to inquire), is that you MUST pick up your furniture within 7 days of the contract expiring or THEY KEEP IT. You heard me. It's theirs. They don't call you, they don't let you know your contract is expiring. They simply keep it.
So...if I understand this correctly, I need to set my alarm for this date and call a moving company to schedule a pick up within days without contacting us? And, that NO one from your company lets me know even a week out that the contract is closing? Boy, that certainly is convenient for them.
It's also interesting that all the small items sold and none of the larger pieces. I have to wonder if they were stuck in the back during the contract so that they could make more money later. Anyway, out of thousands of dollars of furniture, we maybe made $150.00 or so.
And guess what? They own all of our fine furniture now to sell at full price. What a creative business strategy!
Oh, and here is the kicker. When we went down to find out about where our furniture was... The computer records indicated that they lost one of our Custom Robb and Stucky chairs. He said the records indicate it as lost, but since the contract was over they couldn't do anything about it.
Hmmm....maybe someone just took it home. Once again, interesting business model.
If you are selling your furniture, my advice to you is...do NOT go here.
What a disgusting way to do business.
Good luck, anyone else have this issue? The sales person filled us in with all of the complaints...so I know this is not uncommon.
