I've always loved this business. For the last several years I've made it a point to visit this fabulous stamp store and do my part to keep a dying art alive. Today I made my once-yearly pilgrimage and left extremely disappointed and unimpressed.
I arrived at ten to four (closing hour). I thought they closed at 5, but since I knew what I wanted I figured I could run in and get out in time. Unfortunately a female employee (not one of the usual folks I've seen there), told me "Sorry we close at four" when she answered the door. As she said that I thought to myself, "Um, it's TEN TO FOUR. REALLY?" But since she had her kid with her, her purse on her arm, car keys in hand and was obviously on her way out EARLY, I figured it was useless to beg for my stamp fix.
Can't remember the last time I left a favorite store so disappointed. After sitting in traffic for way too long to get there from way across town, this bit the big one.
