If I could choose a negative amount of review I would. This company is the most unethical, LEAST customer oriented company I have dealt with in a LOOOONNNG time. I made a claim through my home warranty, these folks contact me 4 days later, they scheduled an appointment with a 3 hour window (4-7), showed up, the technician spent maybe 10 minutes and stated he needed to order a part for my appliance. So far, sort of normal and ok"ish". The 4 days waiting time before they could come wasn't all that great but I was ok with it. The part they needed to order appeared to be a common part, I did some research and found it online for about $45-85 pending what site you got it from, most showed 2-5 shipping days. So in my mind, I was thinking they would be back in a week to finish the job. I pay the technician the service fee and go on about my day. 10, yes 10 days later I get a call from them telling me that they were ORDERING the part today. I was sure that the person on the phone was confused and I actually stated "you mean you have it and need to come install it?" the person on the other end of the phone replied "no sir, we are ordering it today". They had no good reason or excuse as to why it took them 10 days to make the conscious decision to simply order the part, after some going back and forth they stated that they were awaiting approval before they could order it from my warranty company. I was still shocked as in today's day and age of instant technology and being able to order just about anything within a few clicks, the 10 days baffled me. So I called my warranty company who actually stated that the repair company had never even informed them they had come out to my house, let alone asking for any type of approval for parts or labor. They stated that per my contract if the company comes out, and they cannot fix my issues within 10 days they are supposed to let them know so that the warranty company can pursue replacement options. So this means that Academy Mechanical, PURPOSELY did not communicate with the warranty company so that they could get the repaid job!!!! At this point I am livid, I decide to cool off and call them the next day in hopes of talking to a manager. I called and left a message for the manager to call me back. Never heard back from them. About 10 days later, they call me back and it goes to voicemail, the voicemail stated that they would be at my house the following day between 11 and 2 to install the part. Mind you, they never asked if that was ok or if I could even make that. I call them back that evening and someone picks up the phone, that person states that I was booked for an appointment for the next day and that if I needed to reschedule it, she would have the person who booked it call me back. I was shocked by what I am hearing, so this person who's job is to answer the phone and schedule people, is telling me she won't try to change my appointment because someone else booked it (without talking to me too).... I told her that this would not work for me and if they want to waste their own employee's time, they are more than welcome to send them out but I would not be present. I requested a more suitable time for them to come and she tells me that if I don't take the next day appointment, it would be 3 weeks until they can come out again! I tell her that I have been getting the run-around from their company and requested a manager, conveniently, the manager had just stepped out or was on the other line, I requested the manger to call me back that day (now 3 days later, still no news from the manager). As you can see this company is unethical, does nothing to try and accommodate their customers, and thus far, have $75 of my money and I have nothing to show for, nor do they even care to try and accommodate me. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
