This comic book shop holds a special place in my heart because it served as the host to the very first diaper party I've ever attended. What's a diaper party? Basically, it's the gentleman's version of a baby shower: a couple of guys bring a bunch of diapers for their buddy who's having a kid and we celebrate the whole thing with poker, pizza, and on this particular occasion... comics!
My soon-to-be-a-father friend is a huge comic book fan and spoke very highly of Silver Star. After some coordination, the good people of this establishment let us host the party in one of their rooms. The venue was perfect for what we needed. They had a large table, a couch and several chairs. Though not their usual clientele, we were treated quite graciously and the managers/owners made sure we felt welcomed.
After we were done playing our poker game, the folks here offered each of us a free comic book! It seems that they really encourage many forms of games and activities at their establishment (Pokemon, Magic, etc). If you're comic book fan or just someone looking to host a game night, definitely put this place on your radar!
