I really like this Benihana. I have only been here on business trips and with colleagues. We have always had a great time and because it was a business trip nobody was looking at how much things cost, so keep that in mind.
100% typical Benihana experience that Rocky (Benihana founder) is hoping you always have at his restaurants but is sometimes not the case. No surprises but no disappointments either.
Really nice decor and ambiance. Fast, friendly, attentive service. Talented, personable chefs. The food is cooked perfectly. The drinks are always refilled and the waitstaff seems to know you are about to be in need of something because they are paying attention. Bar drinks are stout and beer is ice cold. This place operates like a well oiled machine.
I would not hesitate to return any time I am in Toronto, and on an expense report :) A great example of what Benihana should be, prices not withstanding.
