Great place for a brief escape from Las Vegas. Stayed with my wife on a Thursday night in October 2011. Used a coupon, but if you're a local with a AAA membership, rooms are only about $50/night, and that's pretty good.
Our room had a southern exposure, had a nice comfy King bed, well-equipped bathroom, coffee-maker, flat-screen TV and nicely-sized in-room fridge. As other reviewers have noted, the whole place has an "interesting" smell to it, sometimes a stale odor but even to my wife who is hyper-sensitive to smells, it wasn't so bad. One minor gripe: our Keurig coffee maker had two single-serving "k-cups," one regular and one decaf. So what to do if you and your roomie both want regular coffee? I suppose the front desk could have helped, but that should have been better thought-out.
There was a fake-flame fireplace in the corner that doubled as a space heater, when we turned it on it started pumping out old stinky heat smell so we never used it again, the normal HVAC controls in the room are just fine.
There is free wifi, but it's in the main lobby, any signal that makes it to your room is just a lucky bonus.
We had PERFECT food at the in-resort restaurant called "A Cut Above."
So bottom line, the resort is a great value and location for those looking to spend some time in Mt. Charleston. Numerous fantastic hikes in the area. Strongly recommended to all.
