Bought a shower enclosure with brass hinges years ago which gave us a lifetime warranty. The hinges were replaced once free of charge as per the contract. Four years ago, they needed to be replaced again and I was told the company changed owners and they would not honor the warranty. ( New owners but they say they have been in business since the 1980's ). We did buy new hinges and where told we had a 5 year warranty. I asked the installer, Rubin, if this covered tarnishing and he said Yes, it covers everything. Called Clayton Glass and they let me talk to Jim. Jim said it was normal wear and tear and would not honor the warranty. My contract says 5 year warranty on all parts and labor. It does not say "Except for normal wear and tear". Now I tell everyone that asks who did our enclosure not to go to Clayton Glass. Why go to a company if the owner, Jim won't honor their written warranty?
