We took our two Shelties to Mark for training. When we got them a few months ago, one (Ian) had spent most of his 2 years in a crate and was poorly socialized -- scared of everything! Neither Ian nor his "cousin" Finn had been trained except NOT to sit, since they were being groomed for show, where sitting is not allowed.
After going through Mark's basics class, both of the boys respond to several commands and love the agility tasks that Mark showed us during the training. Because Finn was raised in a crowd of Shelties, we found he could be food aggressive. We used commands that Mark taught us ... uh, them ... and now, before they eat, they sit and wait for us to give them the "get it" command. As a result, Finn is much calmer about food.
Mark was patient and able to handle all levels of training in the same class. He makes it a point to get to know each dog and owner so he knows how to focus the training.
We highly recommend Mark for training and look forward to the refresher classes. I'm glad he also does pet-sitting, which we may be calling on him for. He's only about 3/4 of a mile away from our house. How handy!
Thanks, Mark, for your terrific training.
