We went to the Pittsburgh Improv to see Big Jay Oakerson. We were seated right by the stage which would be great for a concert but we were a little nervous for a comedy show especially since Big Jay does crowd work almost exclusively. Big Jay was amazing. The staff at the Improv was friendly and efficient. Parking is very plentiful and free since it is in the waterfront complex which is a huge shopping complex. The waterfront can be a bit of a hassle to get to, especially on a weeknight, so I would only come to a show here on a weekend. Unfortunately the Improv has the same thing that most comedy clubs have with the 2 item minimum per person so in addition to whatever you paid for the ticket, we also paid almost $50 on top of it. It wasn't a long show, I can go that length of time without a drink or a snack but they force you to adhere to it. $7 for a Bud Light and $10 for mediocre fries? Insane. I would almost rather just pay a little more for the ticket.
