First of all, I've been coming here forever to get my hair cut. They always do a great job with haircuts, regardless of stylist. The salon is clean and pleasant to be in. It's very classy. There's a bar area with seating and the staff always offers you infused water, pressed coffee, or wine while you get your hair done. Better yet, it's only a 15 minute walk from where I live.
Secondly, the staff was very accommodating and helpful in helping me get the look I wanted for my summer wedding. I had my first hair trial a couple months prior to my wedding. I'm generally not picky about hair nor am I one to complain, but I wasn't very satisfied with what the stylist did with my hair. I called back to explain this and the receptionist said she could tell I wasn't satisfied and offered me to come back for second free hair trial. It was awesome that they did this for free.
The second time, Florencio did my hair trial. I wasn't really sure what I wanted so he tried something on his own that I never would have thought of and it looked amazing. He created sort of a braided updo and it was perfect. I had three other bridesmaids with me on my wedding day (from out of town) and they each got their hair done by different stylists and they all loved their updos. The stylists had some great recommendations because the girls weren't entirely sure what they wanted. It was such a relief to have Florencio do my hair because I knew I didn't have to worry. My hair stayed in place all day and everything about it was perfect. He was super friendly throughout the whole process. I highly recommend him for updos. All of us had a great time getting our hair done at the salon (and drinking wine during the process).
The only negative comment I have is that there was sometimes a lack of communication at the front desk. For example, I filled out paperwork with all the bridesmaids' names on it at the salon and when I called back at a later time to schedule the appointment time for my wedding day, I was asked to provide this information again. I also know they were going through some staff transitions at this time. In fact, the stylist who did my hair trial the first time was no longer employed there when I called back later for a second trial, and no one had informed me of this change. It was for the best, though, because then I got Florencio! Ultimately, it was not a huge issue and everything worked out better than I could have imagined. Whitehouse Salon is the best!
