Dangerous and disappointing. It took quite a while to complete my transaction because the u-haul computer was not including my insurance in the itemized list of charges which cause the store clerk to have to go back through the screens several times. Our u-haul smelled of smoke and the ash trays were full of cigarette butts. I was told by the u-haul roadside assistance representative that the A & A TIRE mechanic would arrive in 90 minutes however they did not arrive until 2.45 hours and two additional calls later. Once the mechanic arrived he was very helpful. The reason for our call was due to a tire blow out. The mechanic explained that the tires on the u-haul were 3 years old and had dry rot which was easily recognizable. Due to u-hauls neglectfulness checking their tires we experienced a tire blowout which could have lead to an accident or worse. Our truck's engine was also poorly maintained. The transmission continually got stuck in high gears and would not down shift. Even when driving down hill and breaking the gear would stick in a high gear and at 5,000 rpm. We feel we deserve a refund of our trip due to the many unsafe conditions of our u-haul truck.
