Zapata's has been around for quite a while. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but has since gone a bit downhill. The building could use an update and maybe a little more care with the food to bring it up to yesteryear's standards.
The location is great, right off of Catawba, tucked away in a strip mall that has also seen better days. The hostess who sat us and our wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The waiters were very attentive and asked us many times if we had needs. Thus, the 4th star!
Our meal was good. We had shrimp tacos and beef chimichanga dinner. My daughter thought the chimichanga wasn't crisp enough, but I loved it. The shrimp tacos were good, not great.
The prices were reasonable and the salsa was fresh and delicious. A good deep clean and a perk up from chef, and this place will be back up to 5 stars in no time!
