Two stars is generous. Having lived in other parts of the country and listened to the NPR stations there, I can confidently say that this station is the worst I've ever listened to. It's a real shame Phoenix can't do better. The volume of time devoted to commercials and promotional announcements must approach or exceed 50 percent.
I can only conclude that KJZZ doesn't have the money to buy the best programming, so they use a lot of filler. I will say that their weekend programming is an improvement, as they will actually run a program without an interruption for more than 6-8 minutes. I believe this is because they're trying to attract Millennials.
As for music, wouldn't it be nice to have some variety! The blues program is something but there is so much more out there, that never gets played--in Phoenix at least.
